not even a threat of rain over head. >> are we caught up now on rain? >> it sure helps. the gardens did get a lot of water. now, the rain did cause some problems -- a blessing. there were a few spots where strong winds caused the damage. but it is past us now. you look at the hd doppler radar and arenas mostly offshore except in southeast virginia. the mouth of the chesapeake bay, where there is still thundershower activity. this far north, the skies had cleared and things are looking good. for those down and ocean city, still cloudy but it will straighten itself out and the next three, four, five hours and sunshine at the beaches. details on the weekend forecast and the week ahead coming up. >> the weather is a big story. the rain raising fears of the

flooding. >> resident in parts of our area still dealing with the damage from thursday's storm. >> afternoon downpour and left much of frederick's of merged. water levels was so high in some areas that intersection had to be shut down. what flooding was not as bad and baltimore county, the rain did accumulate in this bundle parking lot, all on the heels of nasty weather that blew through thursday night. these cokeysville businesses salads and what they could. >> just trying to help the neighbors, phone the barnyard. >> five businesses had significant damage, including the manufacture of this portable shed which washed downstream. several merchants also reported flooding. >> once that bridge gets the green underneath the that the water backs up, and it is constantly happening. >> and happens once a year at least. but like i said, from what i call this is probably the worst.

johnnycake road and route 40. police have not identify the person who was hit and died. another accident, this time involving a baltimore police cruiser, has several recovering. we are told the cruiser collided with a the other vehicles on the 3000 block of st. paul street. the officer and several others were treated for minor injuries. >> new information the morning regarding the state police investigation of that bizarre attack on a speed camera operation along 295 near the airport. police may have found something the suspect left behind. i-team reported david collins. >> the camera may lead to evidence of who was responsible " -- taunted the operator with a shotgun. state police found fingerprints. results are not back. investigators believe the suspect may have liens on the vehicle during some point. >> witnesses have said the

individual was at the vehicle, was striking the front windshield with a hammer and was walking around the vehicle. >> and number of witnesses have since come forward. according to police, some stopped on 295 southbound to watch. witnesses have helped authorities develop a better description. he is now described as a white male, 6 feet, 200-220 pounds, gray hair, wearing glasses, red and blue plaid shirt, blue jeans and carrying a black backpack. keep this beach camera operator told authorities the man yelled incoherently before striking the windshield. the motive is public -- puzzling. at the speed cameras angered him why didn't he break the device? using a camera -- carol -- hammer on the windshield and threatening with a gun seemed personal. if the suspect acted on impulse, as many people who heard about the attack terrorized, he was unbelievably lucky to find a direct route to the jeep. it is more likely it planned an

accounting. the past state police believe the suspect used across a creek and leads to a large hole in the fence that appears to have been here awhile. what looks like a well-traveled trail leads along the fence a free vote -- a few yards before veering left, to a small incline with the ground level off when the jeep was part. >> there is no definitive suspect being looked at and investigators was -- are continuing to review surveillance tapes and trying to find witnesses to interview. >> the police manhunt cook -- manhunt closed the parkway for about three hours. anyone with information about this crime is urged to call the state police barracks at glen bernie, 410-761-5130. linthicum, david collins. >> a federal judge decided state attorney general's lawsuit over those election day robo calls can move forward. a political operative julius henson was indicted and recently tried to get a judge to halt the suit against him, saying

witnesses and that is good reason incriminating themselves in the ongoing case. the judge denied the motion, saying the court can handle the issue is a rises. the report alleges the robo calls violated law by trying to suppress turnout and henson says it was not to the tensions and said he did not believe the calls were illegal. >> former first lady betty ford has died. the wife of the late president gerald ford passed away last night in palm springs. >> this morning she is being remembered not only for years and the white house but her fight on behalf of millions to struggled with addiction. a look back at her life and the disappeared >> elizabeth board, better known as betty, never expected to be first lady. was the boston to but spotlight after watergate and she saw the job as a challenge before her inner strength that became her trademark. >> the event that probably had the biggest impact on my life was the day my husband took the oath of office as president.

>> she married gerald ford in 1948 and began life as the wife of a politician and a mother and housewife. >> i like my career as a housewife and a mother. and i think my life has been a much fuller and much broader, and i am happier than i would have been in what is somewhat a narrow life that you have to give up everything to become a professional. >> as first lady, she was local, speaking out in support of women's rights. when faced with breast cancer in 1974, she spoke openly about the disease and her mastectomy, two topics not discussed in public in those days. ford also spoke openly about her battles with alcohol and drugs and established the betty ford treatment center. once out of washington, mrs. ford rarely stepped back into the political spotlight, making only a few public appearances with former presidents and their wives, but she remained active in the calls as close to her

>> very nice morning this morning. no rain, clear skies over baltimore. down in the lower eastern shore, still some clouds. you can see it in the satellite greater combination. you see all the cloudiness and the rain are moving away from the day and there is nothing out to the west of any substance coming in behind it.

so, this is a good trend we have going this morning. let us look at the current conditions. the sun is out. a little hazy. patches of fog. there. 75 at the inner harbor. humidity is still up. dew point are still high and that is why you see the patchy fog and the haze. rainfall, here is what has fallen in the past 24 hours as estimated by the radar. the blue is the latest amounts of rain -- northern virginia got that, at least parts of it. green are up by around and interest so of rain. and then two or 3 inches of rain and maybe a little more -- some of the spots that you see aren't just south of the city, inner harbor. this would include yesterday's rains. cockeysville, they have problems in new jersey, they had rain in the southern part. you can see the rain trend as it occurred yesterday.

this morning's temperatures. the warmer readings in the 70's still south of us, the cold front as pulling off shore. cooler temperatures, and from the west, mostly in the 60's this morning indicated by the green. baltimore area and the 95 quarter is the dividing line kind of of the temperature change -- corridor is the dividing line. out to the west not much out there. i pressure is coming in. this is what the map -- high pressure is coming in. this is the map for this evening. the high pressure will continue to move through the carolinas and then stalled out. for the week end of the high pressure will be in control and it will not be until early next week, maybe tuesday, until the next front will start coming in and maybe bring us a chance of rain once again. today's forecast, a lot of sunshine. humidity will be dropping. it it will still be warm -- 88- 92 will be the high. a degree above the average high

>> the latest jobs report paints a discouraging picture of the nation's economic recovery in this morning's consumer alert. employers added only 18,000 jobs in june, nudging the unemployment rate to 9.2%. president obama blames the economic setback on natural disasters, sky high gas prices and budget cuts that slashed 39,000 jobs. the dismal report, as leaders tried to break a partisan stalemate over the debt ceiling and government spending. >> we are not going to reduce the deficit or subsidize tax cuts for the rich on the backs of america's seniors and working families. >> there is no agreement in

the dew point are high. 69 is the air temperature of the airport, 75 at the inner hope -- harbor. it may be koller tonight by midnight or so. these may not be the lows of the day so far. the rain the past 24 hours, this is how much fell as estimated by the radar. st. of heavier rain in western mckinney, western maryland. -- streaks of heavier rain in western virginia, all western maryland. the brightest of thereds, over two inches. you see the bull's-eye around cockeysville and parts of baltimore county and also the inner harbor, there were heavy rains yesterday and also new jersey got clobbered yesterday afternoon. of course, some thunderstorms produce gusty winds. temperatures this morning, kind of a lot -- dividing line along

the 95 corridor, where south of the corridor it is in the 70's this morning. to the north, predominant temperatures are in the 60's, low 60s in western maryland and also the humidity is beginning to drop as well although we are not quite there yet. again, satellite imagery showing the storm moving offshore by this evening -- the front will be off to the south. right now just south of us but moving further south into the carolinas later this morning and a high pressure will be the dominant whether feature not only today but tomorrow and monday as well, a big piece of monday before the next weather system comes in for the west. our forecast, mostly sunny skies. still warm but less humid. so more comfortable. northwest winds, 5-15 miles an hour and the boaters expect 5- 10 not. as far as the future cast, the rain moves out of the picture. through sunday we are dry. even in the monday, good

weather. but by late monday into tuesday, the next front comes in increasing range chances. ocean city forecast, some clouds this morning but the sun breaks through. we are good through the weekend, up near 90 for the high but less humid conditions make the weekend pretty nice. monday looks like a decent day until monday night when the rain chances go up. rain chance of highest tuesday. still pretty warm. a little bit on the human side but after the front goes through wednesday, thursday, friday, looks great. >> cheating spouse is in new jersey better watch out because an appeals court ruled placing a -- as tracking device and a family vehicle does not constitute invasion of privacy. it stems from my lawsuit filed by a man whose wife divorced him for cheating after she put a gps in the car to track his whereabouts. >> here in new jersey there is a lot of cheating. >> would you do something like that?

[laughter] i don't know. >> if it can't -- it is a shame it comes to that. if people so worried they resort to those tactics. >> those tactics mean placing a gps device in your spouse's card to track who they are well aware that are going. in the jersey court ruled this week it is not an invasion of privacy. >> people should be able to do what they do or go where they want to go without being tracked. just call and ask them. >> according to court papers, the wife placed a gp as tracking device similar to this one in the glove box of a car owned by both of them. to track her husband and see if he was cheating. >> i guess the lady was desperate. >> i think his wife should have some conversations before sticking a lojack on a husband. >> this woman says she would do it in a heartbeat. >> put it right underneath so he did not know it was there and i

rock bottom. >> that means you tried everything you can to save your marriage and you know there is nothing left you can do. and the only way to go is up. once you figure out the only way to go is up you have to forgive yourself but it is so important you do not blame yourself. there is a lot of guilt but at the same time you have to realize you may the best decision he could with the information you had at that particular time. there are no failures. and while you forgive yourself, you have to forgive your spouse for his part as well for her part as well for the ending of the marriage. then you have to count your blessings and be grateful for what you have. >> , let's talk about after hitting rock bottom you have to take responsibility for the fact he did play a role in ending your marriage. that is what you say. even though maybe you did catch your spouse cheating, but everyone does play a role. then it takes two to make a marriage work, it takes two to make a marriage breakup.

no matter what the circumstances were for the actual breakup, those are just some bombs. there is always a much deeper issue. you need to look at what is your part in the issue and take responsibility for it. >> so that you are not likely to make the same mistakes or problems in the future. >> exactly. the whole point of going through the process is that you do learn enough about yourself, that you did not repeat the same mistake and end up with the same relationship. >> if you have children or even if you don't, say -- you say be prepared to be single and the single parent. it someone to be divorced but they are not ready for the responsibility of being alone. >> it is tough. you have been somebody for five, 10, 15, 20 years and all of a sudden you are on your own so you are responsible for every single thing. being a single parent is the hardest job and the world, much harder than being a married parents. being a parent of a tough job

and a single parent a tougher job. you are on 24/7. your kids -- they don't care if you have to get up and go to work at 6:00 in the morning. if they get up at 4:00 in the morning and you are sick, -- they are sick, you are taking care of them. >> if you do not have a plan to be a single parent you are probably not prepared to be divorced. >> exactly right. you have to know deep down you are ready to take on the responsibility. >> you mentioned counseling your blood -- counting your blessing, take stock of what you have a good in your life. >> one thing i always say is i am grateful for my ex-husband because he gave me my children. if i had not been married to him, i would not have my children. i am grateful i have a roof over my head, food on the table, close on my back. these are things that matter. so if you focus on what is important and what matters, and what you have this wonderful as opposed to what is not, you are
